The World Political, Economic, and Technological Research Institute supports Shanghai Climate Week 2024.

The first Shanghai Climate Week will be held from April 22 to 26, 2024, in Shanghai. Elites from various sectors of society, including government departments, international and domestic social organizations, Fortune Global 500 companies, and representatives from cities and towns, will gather to engage in a series of colorful activities focusing on the core theme of sustainable development. These activities will include the Green Carbon Asia Forum, the Beautiful China Initiative, and a series of Climate Park events.
The World Political, Economic and Technological Research Institute, as a partner of Shanghai Climate Week 2024, and with the support of related organizations such as the Shanghai Climate Week Youth Committee,During the Shanghai Climate Week 2024, from April 21st to 27th, in conjunction with the host organization's Youth Summit on Sustainable Development, we will co-host a youth innovation debate competition with the theme “Green Resonance, Innovative Future.”
Shanghai Climate Week opens with“China's Actions, Asia's Voice, World Standards”As its core philosophy, aligned with the United Nations Climate Week series, it aims to promote active participation from all sectors of society in China's commitment and practice to achieve its dual carbon goals. Simultaneously, it will showcase China's proactive efforts in addressing climate change to the world, convey the Asian voice, primarily from new economies and developing countries, and drive the development and implementation of relevant international standards. The vision of Shanghai Climate Week is to become the most influential green brand symbol internationally, building an important platform for exchange and cooperation in the climate field among “Belt and Road” countries, developing countries, and developed countries.
The initiators of this Shanghai Climate Week include the Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange, the Shanghai Association for Modern Service Industry, Fudan University, and the Shanghai branch of Xinhua News Agency, among others, and it has received the joint support of over a hundred global partners. Since preparation began in August 2023, Shanghai Climate Week has garnered the attention and support of relevant government authorities and UN agencies, attracting active participation from numerous domestic and international research institutions, social organizations, and enterprises, all contributing to the successful hosting of this green event.
